Caixa misteriosa que ficou fechada por uma semana em aeroporto tinha conteúdo surpreendente
Uma caixa de madeira não identificada, com apenas 40 centímetros de altura, ficou fechada no aeroporto de Beirute, no Líbano, durante uma semana antes de ser aberta – e as pessoas ficaram chocadas ao descobrir três filhotes de tigre siberianos ameaçados de extinção lá dentro. Desidratados e famintos, eles estavam cobertos de urina e fezes, e tinham seus corpos infestados de centenas de larvas. “Nada indicava que a caixa continha tigres ou até mesmo animais vivos, e não havia detalhes de um carregador ou receptor”, escreveu o grupo de resgate Animals Lebanon (AL).

Os filhotes estavam viajando do Zoológico Nikolaev, na Ucrânia, para o Zoológico Samer al-Husainawi, em Damasco, na Síria, quando eles ficaram presos no Líbano. Essa horrível cena que as pessoas testemunharam quando abriram a caixa revelou como animais exóticos às vezes são tratados. A AL fez um apelo para confiscar os tigres de seu proprietário original argumentando que este era um caso de crueldade contra animais. Agora, os filhotes estão seguros e ficando mais fortes a cada dia. Na foto abaixo, os tigres já haviam sido limpos e tratados por um veterinário.

O site Bored Panda entrou em contato com a Animals Lebanon, que esclareceu que, enquanto estavam presos no aeroporto, os filhotes de tigre foram visitados por um representante do zoológico importador por cerca de 15 minutos por dia antes de serem resgatados.

They can only be traded under very specific circumstances, and only when a number of other conditions are met.Officials have already stated that the transport conditions do not meet the regulations of CITES or IATA Live Animal Regulations. The owner, exporter and shipper is one man listed as 'Private Entrepreneur'…Animals Lebanon submitted today our case asking for the animals not just to be seized, but to be permanently confiscated.The Ministry of Agriculture, Judge of Urgent Matters and Customs have all made the right decisions.
